Our Values
We have seen that devotion to the Gospel of Jesus Christ manifests itself in several core values, which are useful in expressing who we are. In communicating these values we have found it helpful to incorporate them into the following “CHAPEL” acrostic:
- Christ Exalting
- When we are lifting up and living out the Gospel of Jesus Christ we see the heart and ministry of Christ become central in our worship, in our handling of Scripture, in our relationships, and in our lives.
- Heart Focused
- Our goal in lifting up and living out Jesus Christ is to pursue the transforming effect of the Gospel in people’s lives. This focus has grown out of a conviction that true change occurs on the level of the heart.
- Assimilating Others
- No matter where people are in their understanding of who Jesus Christ is, we desire to draw them into a closer relationship with Him and His church.
- Pursuing Christlikeness
- The Father’s purpose is to make us like His Son. We want to become more and more like Him in all our relationships, always seeking to lift Him up and live Him out before others.
- Expanding the Kingdom
- We purposefully seek to lift up and live out Jesus Christ in all that we do, in order that others, both here and around the world, might come into a love relationship with Him.
- Lifestyle of Worship
- We believe every aspect of our lives ought to be offered to God as an expression of worship. This is the essence of lifting up and living out Jesus Christ.
